Showcase

our inaugaral project. this was designed as an all-round work-horse pc. ridiculously large, and insanely heavy. this pc was built into a spacious corsair case, i think i'ts an i cue 4000 X a few scuff marks were deeply embedded in the side

dust had settled on the corsair i cue 240 and become a 5mm thick layer blanketting the radiator and significantly reducing heat dissipation.

this system need cleaning

inside, tha computer was quite clean, the issue was the wiring. oh, the horror! i wont show you that but believe me, it was so bad i wanted to fix it rather than photograph it! live and learn, huh? it revealed an asus rampage 5 edition 10 motherboard, gigabyte rtx 3080 graphics cards, 2x kingston fury 16gb ram, though the computer only sees 8gb, a wireless controller for some vr helmet and a remote to turn the pc on froma  remote location, handy if this lovelly machine is buried in the corner, hidden out of view.

in order for me to understand exactly how this system went together, it had to come apart, first.

paste had to be removed and replaced a number of times and remember those cables i mentioned earlier? out they came. and yes! thats a loose SATA cable. not connected to anyting. i double checked the manual to figure if the ram was in the correct placing and replaced the heatsink on the ssd.

cables back in, great, not terribly neat but much neater than it had been!ram back in place and this time the bios detecte all 16gb!

it took some time relocate the cables back to their sources and it was worth it. i replaced the controller hub with a larger one to cover all the argb fans. it was a shame one fan didnt light up. the remote worked now it can go back to being buried,

gave the glass a polish, powered and run a stress test using a benchmarking tool and this beast was ready, dare i say, better than ever. yes, i know i missed a spot! never-the-less looks pretty good, dont you think?
